Wonderland - alls well ends well
My aim for this project was to capture moments of alternative London nightlife. It was fascinating to watch how people responded to the music whilst on drugs. I wanted to use the opportunity to capture distorted, abstract images of the event to gain a more interesting perspective and to take images as though I was on drugs. I stayed at the event till it finished at 6am as I want to get the full experience of the night and see the changes in people's energy. I engaged with lots of different faces as I think the communication was important to understand how drugs reacted with people and how the music uplifts their drug experience.
These images were taken on 20/10/2012 at a venue called Jacks down Crucifix Lane in London Bridge. The event is called Wonderland - alls well ends well a night filled with creative magical decor, mixture of DJs and live music played in two rooms. The experience of the night was incredible and the atmosphere was very different to any other nightclubs I have been to in the past. Some individuals who attended the event wore quirky and imaginative outfits which fitted to the theme of Wonderland. The variation of music was outstanding, from drum & bass, jungle, dubstep, deep and electro house, live bands and even performances by circus acts.
It was very difficult selecting 12 photos for my Photo Essay as there were so many images I wanted to included. However if you wish to look at more images taken through out the night please click the link to my flickr page once you have viewed the slideshow.
