Meeting week 1
26/09/2012 Introduction to Yolasite. Discussed roles and deliberated thoughts and ideas on how we want our website to look and the type of Documentary we want to produce. We started thinking about our name for our production company and finally came up with: HighViolet Productions. We decided this name as it was unique and we can match our logo colour and website theme to the colour violet. Searched for Highviolet Productions online to check it the name has been used. We then began to brainstorm ideas to how we want the website to look in terms of the layout, font and colour scheme. We wanted simplicity for our website using a black and violet colour scheme to make the website look clean and easy to view. Noted down all individual and group tabs that needed to be placed upon the website. Browsed through layouts provided on the site choosing one we are all happy with as a group. Edited website as a group and pitched our ideas further. Objectives: . Think about ideas and starting to write a synopsis up onto website . Research ideas, looking at contacts . Looking at the Learning Network and looking at the powerpoints of modes of photography and photography guide. This will help us understand how to capture affective photos for our photo essay's. |
With these four images we created a light trial using a low shutter speed of 5" and aperture of F11. We shined a torch infront of the camera and moved it in different directions to receive various swirl affects and shapes. We then edited the images to a violet colour. Our aim is to create a modern and simple design for our logo. From these experiments we decided to attempt creating a light trial by writing the word high with the source of light we use. We would then use the words violet and productions and fit the font to the style of the light trial. We also want the background to be white rather than back so it merges with the colour scheme of our website. The style and colour scheme of the title 'Vice City' in this image is our inspiration for our logo for highviolet productions. This is what we want to try and create using a light trial affect on the 550d cameras. 11/10/2012 . Updating Yolasite. . We did this by using a slow shutter speed on the Cannon "3 and aperture 5.6 and ISO on AUTO focus. We used manual focusing for this image as we wanted to be in control. We were very happy with the outcome of the light trial which we editing together on Photoshop. We selected a violet colour and used other font to complete the words High, Violet and Productions. We used a gradient mask on the letters using a violet and white colour.
