'BUT IS IT LOVE?' MEDIASTORM TRAILER

Above is the final cut of our mediastorm trailer for 'But Is It Love'. We set out to create quite a comedic trailer allowing audiences to put themselves into our subjects positions, having been entertained and furthermore enjoying it.

The trailer is edited to take the look of a speed date, in which our subjects were filmed and photographed sitting down into our interview table. Our subjects were asked very simple questions such as; What is your name?, What are your hobbies?, What is your favourite colours? etc, just to mirror and be as similar to a real speed date, in which you are forced into awkward small talk. The cuts are very speedy and concise, moving from subject to subject allowing audiences to get to know the personality of each subject little by little.

We set out to produce more of a teaser mediastorm than a full trailer idea, as we believed it would connect to the audiences on a level that was different to a more detailed trailer, where you would see the in depth life of our primary contact. This concept is much more memorable, light hearted and easy to watch.

Poster and Logo

Here is the final poster design which incorporates all the factors that we would be covering in our documentary. As audiences can see, constructed in a sort of equation, with the use of stickmen instead of maths, it reads, Woman plus Man plus time equals love. Summing up our documentary idea on speed dating beautifully. With the tag line more an straight forward quote  'A Documentary About Speed Dating' tells the audience straight away what this story is about.

Straight in the middle of the poster is the logo for the film as seen on the right. As audiences can see, the shape is most obviously a heart, so straight away people will be able to read what genre of documentary this is and be intrigued to find out more.

Considering further promotion, we added both Facebook and Twitter logos, to prove audiences with information that we are connected online. A long with our QR code, audiences furthermore see how connected with media we are portraying a professionalism about our production company.

We used the secondary logo for this poster as it aesthetically worked better than our main logo. With the light trails and outburst flash effects, the poster is more appealing and stands out to audiences that considerably bit more.

Here is the finalised logo for 'But Is It Love?' our documentary film. Incorporating the underlying theme of love from our idea of speed dating, Here audiences can so obviously see a giant pink heart with the words 'But Is It' inisde then another heart placed inide that with the word 'Love?' inisde of it. Here the basis of the design is on the love heart sweet by Swizzels Matlow. Making the design look like the authentic sweet, I gathered a similar font and played around with the embossed effect. The colours are very vibrant encouraging audiences to have an attraction to it. This thereby promoting our documentary successfully.

Mobile website

Mobile website is a browser based Internet service from a handheld mobile device, meaning the Internet is becoming much more accessible by portable and wireless devices. Mobile website is likely to exceed web access from desktop computers within the next 5 years.

The reasons why mobile website would be good to use for our project is mobile websites increase business. By creating a separate website for mobile users enables them to experience easy navigation. It is essential that we consider the design and content limitations of mobile web browsing so that our audience get the most out of the website.

Here is our mobile URL http://mobile.dudamobile.com/site/highvioletproductions_yolasite

The following video is a visual example of our mobile Yola website through an I Phone and how easy and accessible it is to viewers.

QR Codes

QR codes (Quick Response Codes) which have evolved from bar codes essentially act as a quick and easy way to access immediate online media and or data from offline media. Using any type of smart phone it’s as simple as downloading a free QR Code scanner and simply scanning a chosen code as one would scan a bar code in a shop.  The information stored on the QR Code is then sent directly to your smart phone and available to view.

QR Codes can store and present in a digital format a lot more than bar codes can by a considerable amount. As a result of this they are becoming very popular within advertising and marketing. Used on such media as billboards, posters, magazine advertisements and web pages, they are a very quick and effective way of businesses and brands elaborating there media on a wider and more detailed scale from their initial transitory advertising.

For this precise reason High Violet Productions have decided to create our own QR Code. The code will feature on all our supporting media and will send the scanner straight to our mobile Yola website which in its self has all the other necessary links the viewer will need to find out all about us and documentary. The Code can be found below.

In regards to Q R Codes, the current existing versions range from Version 1 all the way to Version 40. The black and white dots within QR Codes are known as modules and each Version consists of a different module configuration number. The module configuration numbers represent the number of modules contained inside a symbol. This starts with Version 1 (21 x 21) to Version 40 (177 x 177 modules.) Every time the Versions go higher, 4 additional modules per side are included.

As the amount of information is increased more modules are required to comprise QR Codes which results in larger QR Code symbols.
